Arch Consulting is in partnership with a Canada-based licensed producer and distributor of cannabis products for both the medical and adult-use markets in Aylmer, ON. They are currently looking for a Accounting Manager with

This is a hybrid position - Aylmer facility and London Office (flexible as needed)
Summary
The Senior Accountant will be a direct report of the Senior Director, Operations Finance and will lead the accounting team in executing proper accounting processes and procedures. This role is key to ensuring the books and records of Entourage and any affiliated entities are accurate. A focus on continuous improvement and determination to embrace the maxim of ‘do it right and make it easy’ are required for success as this person partners cross functionally to build sustainable processes to ensure timely recording of transactions.
Core Responsibilities
Team leadership

• Lead the accounts payable and accounting team
• Create a feedback welcome culture on the accounting team so that there is a cohesive relationship, despite most team members being remote
• Execute the performance management framework to create a high performing team based on coaching

Internal Controls

• Drive a sense of curiosity amongst the team to question what, and why
• Reflect a sense that internal controls are just good business practice and ensure that controls relied upon are business savvy
• Execute and drive implementation of internal controls framework that ensures efficient controls over financial reporting

Taxation

• Lead the taxation processes for income, commodity, and excise taxes
• Ensure appropriate controls in place over excise stamps and monitor all regulatory reporting to Health Canada

Operations Accounting

• Identify and drive system improvement projects to create efficiencies in accounting processes
• Partner with Payroll department and production/cultivation teams to develop and facilitate seamless labour recording and reporting
• Ensure timely recording of cultivation and production entries to facilitate accurate measurement of gross margin by SKU
• Execute implementation of sustainable processes to ensure accurate, timely recording of transactions

Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

• Enable timely and accurate recording of invoices
• Implement processes to ensure completeness of accruals
• Ensure all procurement contracts are assessed for appropriate recognition

Requirements

• Required to be onsite at Aylmer facility and London Office regularly (40% - 60%)
• Expert excel skills, practiced in spreadsheet controls requirements
• Strong business partnership skills with a focus on cross functional accountability
• Fully qualified CPA with two years post qualification experience
• Proficiency with application software including the Microsoft Office productivity suite
• Experienced in preparation of FS in accordance with IFRS
• Dedicated leader, focused on development of team members
