Senior Analyst – Real Estate Development Underwriting & Asset Management

Minimum one to three years professional work experience within the Real Estate Industry

Assist with evaluating new real estate opportunities including completing scenario and sensitivity analysis.

Create detailed cash flow projections of new development opportunities as well as reforecast cash flow projections for projects under development.

Monitor financial performance and project timelines and advise of variances and their impact to approved as well as anchor business plans.

Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations to support the project and associated investment considerations with management, lenders and partners

Support team with project updates, analysis and forecasting and respond to management and partner inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Post-secondary education in real estate, commerce, finance, and/or economics preferred

2-4 years in relevant work experience in real estate development analysis and/or investments

Superior proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and in particular Excel, with experience building / maintaining complex development proformas

Strong financial analysis skills; ability to calculate, interpret, and understand real estate valuations

3 to 5 years of experience in a managerial capacity

Strong technical skills including thorough knowledge of ASPE and IFRS

Manage day-to-day operations related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and banking activities.

Provide continuous coaching, mentorship, and career development support to the finance team.

7 to 10 years related experience in both commercial and residential real estate

Extensive experience with Yardi Voyager

At least two years of full time work experience in a Finance, Accounting, or Banking role

Provide weekly loan compliance updates to the Real Estate Finance team

Build out loan specific compliance certificates as well as sub-certificate questionnaires to support Oxford’s ongoing lender reporting requirements

Exposure to reviewing and synthesizing contracts; experience interpreting loan agreements is considered an asset

Clear, personable, and effective communication skills (both written and verbal)

Strong documentation and organization skills and a high level of attention to detail

Prepare internal and external partner reporting for real estate projects and manage full cycle accounting

Prepare and process construction draws, cash calls , distributions and cash flow reconciliations and manage working capital

Atleast 2-3 years strong accounting experience in a public company or audit firm

Perform monthly calculations, reconciliations and recording of revenues and commissions for real estate projects

Support auditors for external audit

Perform month end closing and prepare accounting working papers

Assist in the preparation of preliminary development, property management and asset management budgets at the asset class level;

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with knowledge of financial forecasting;

Assist in the setup and maintenance of corporate entities accounting records and banking requirements

Liaise with external auditors and co-ordinate and manage audit requests;

2-5 years accounting experience with 1-2 years relevant experience in the preparation of financial statements;

Experience working in the real estate industry and fully literate with real estate accounting policies and procedures;
