Promote quality, ensure processes needed for the Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented, and maintained.

Perform review of the Quality Management System at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability and effectiveness (opportunities for improvement).

Report to senior management on the performance of the QMS and any need for improvement.

Maintain compliance in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.

Responsible for leading and assisting the project team members to ensure compliance with the client, industry, and internal quality requirements.

Manage direct reports and oversee additional staff members for two business units.

Liaison with Management on concerns identified by non-conformance data.

Post-secondary technical education (diploma, certification, etc.)

5 years machine shop inspection experience, or equivalent

2 years supervisory experience in a QC environment

ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification

Working knowledge of typical manufacturing and NDE processes

Excellent organizational, planning, problem solving, decision making and time management skills.

Completion of product set-up documentation in compliance with Guardian requirements (including SDS, labels).

Experience in sample analysis, procedure writing and problem solving.

Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills.

Team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Excellent computer skills that include the use of MS Office Suite of products.

Previous experience with Quality Management System

Support implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) elements and auditing processes.

Solid knowledge of quality principles, program requirements, best practices, regulations, and codes.

That the workers are aware of their health and safety responsibilities and duties

Provides direction on prioritization of tasks and activities as per production plan requirements

Manage hiring core team members

Good knowledge and experience in Quality Management Systems, Six Sigma, or similar Quality measurement practices.

Maintain and analyze data and create quality dashboards for management.

Must be able to write, speak and communicate to engage employees, management, and others productively and credibly.

Suggest best practices in inspection techniques through industry experience.

Manufacturing industry experience is an added advantage.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Supports regular compilation and reporting of quality related QA/QC data for management reporting and review purposes

Supports quality and management systems communications, training, and inductions

Maintenance of all records demonstrating full traceability of changes to management systems

Overseeing the training management platform (Operator Suite Platform by Microsoft) and follow up for any outstanding documents

Administers the training management platform and keeps it up-to date

Assisting with the development of QMS project level policies, processes, and procedures as per ISO 9001 requirements

Certificate in Quality Management Systems and/or certified Quality Engineer designation is required, or currently working on certification.

Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Management System elements is required.

Comprehensive analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills are required.

Post-secondary degree in a related discipline from a recognized academic institution.

Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Quality Control role ideally within the Life Sciences industry is required.

Direct knowledge of QA methodologies.

Practical experience with product testing.

Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills

Experience with ERP systems is an asset.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality control is an asset.

· Previous experience in the food or meat industry is an asset.
