Masters or Honours degree in planning or a related field plus expert knowledge and further specialization in planning.

Minimum of five years of experience in a planning position or related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Knowledge and understanding of Provincial, GTA, Regional, and local planning issues.

Well-developed policy formulation, communications, analytical, problem-solving and computer skills are required.

Language Requirement: English and Japanese

Educate clients about the range of housing options available through Vanmates and tailor recommendations to their requirements.

Provide accurate information about properties, rental rates, lease terms, and any additional services offered.

Collaborate with the Vanmates team to maintain up-to-date knowledge of available properties and market trends.

Fluent in English (both written and spoken) is a requirement.

Previous experience in sales, customer service, or a related field is advantageous.

A Master’s Degree in a related field with several years of related experience.

Responsible for providing management of the housing and homelessness teams in the Program Manager’s Absence

Manage and oversee the Emergency Housing Program including contract compliance with all vendors supporting the program

Facilitate the operations and delivery of the Service Manager housing and homelessness directly delivered programs including oversight of the staff

Two years of direct related experience in the housing or homelessness sector, in a supervisory role or systems support position preferred

Superior analytical and problem solving abilities

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proven experience in project coordination, program management, or a similar role.

2+ years experience in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.

Strong organizational abilities, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in CRM systems, data analysis, and reporting tools.

Familiarity with PR and media relations strategies is an advantage.

Experience using databases, information management systems and statistical software, such as Microsoft Power BI, will be considered an asset;

Must have experience and ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities and maintain appropriate confidentiality levels;

Accreditation through Certified Property Management (C.P.M.) or the Institute of Housing Management (I.H.M.) will be considered an asset;

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Must have experience in managing relationships with corporate and community partners;

Must demonstrate political acuity and be able to integrate this skill into the position’s activities;

Forwarding any complaints to the appropriate manager

Provide clerical/administrative support to Property Managers such as: drafting correspondences, answering phone calls, coordinating meetings, arranging travels

Working with and coordinating the Property Managers to ensure campaigns are generating enough traffic, and events are set in place.

Support marketing manager in organizing various projects

Demonstrated expertise in utilizing CRM systems for efficient and accurate client data management is an asset;

Collaborates with the BC Settlement & Integration staff to provide 1:1 information and orientation to clients on tenancy rights and responsibilities;

Demonstrated recent experience in providing individualized advice, support, information, and guidance to newcomers related to housing;

Extensive knowledge of social housing systems, housing programs and providers and housing advocacy organizations in the Lower Mainland;

Experience working with individuals who experience barriers to housing is an asset;

Experience with outreach and community engagement is an asset;

Property management experience including lease administration, rent collection, and unit turnover management.

Facilitate intake management; background checks, generate leases, and orientation.

Facilitate, support, and encourage engagement of tenants in the ongoing management of their building and participation in tenant community.

Knowledge and experience working with women who have experienced violence, addictions, abuse and/or homelessness.

Experience in conflict resolution, crisis response, intervention, de-escalation, advocacy, and negotiation skills.

Collect rent, establish payment schedules to manage any arrears, and follow up LTB Notices.

Advise on housing related policies and regulation changes or updates

Perform a variety of administrative, clerical and research activities related to the project

Coordinate and schedule internal and external meetings for the affordable housing technology project

Provide case management supports for identified households with a focus on housing stabilization.

Proven computer skills, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and experience with HIFIS

Identify opportunities for short term diversion from homelessness with a focus on long term stabilization.

Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and use negotiation skills, as necessary

Minimum of 3 years work experience in Social Services Programs or Community Related Agency engaging with diverse populations

Post-secondary education in Social and Behavioral Sciences, Community Development, or equivalent discipline

Knowledge of Residential Tenancy Act and the responsibilities of Landlord and Tenant pertaining to the regulation

Organize, coordinate and manage bookings for Dining Room and other rentable spaces

Strong planning and organization skills

Good verbal and written communication skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft office, and excel
