3+ years’ experience in the repair/maintenance of heavy-duty equipment

Strong mechanical background knowledge with various engines and hydraulic systems

A strong communicator with solid people skills

Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools

Journeyman certification in Heavy Equipment Technician with a minimum of 5 years in the trade

Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software plus an aptitude to learn new software applications and systems

Dual certification or additional certification in Agriculture Equipment Technician, Automotive Service Technician and/or Parts Technician trade(s)

Experience with Heavy Equipment engines and diesel fuel systems

Experience with heavy equipment On-Road, transmissions, clutches, differentials, air brakes, hydraulics, hydraulic brakes, trailers and electrical

Experience with Agricultural equipment, sprayers, combines, balers, etc. is considered an asset

3 Years of experience in Heavy Equipment

Strong communication and people skills

Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics, electrical, schematics, and diagnostics

Inspect and repair heavy off road equipment (CAT, Volvo, Komatsu)

Perform incidental welding on equipment

Diagnose defects and perform repairs in the shop and on the road

Good organization and time management skills;

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;

Experience reading schematics (Electrical and hydraulic);

Drug and alcohol testing which may be swab or urine depending on site requirements

Must have between (5) and (10) years' Journeyperson experience

Off Road experience is REQUIRED

Experience with CAT E.T. and S.I.S. and/or Komatsu is REQUIRED

Experience with CAT Scrapers is Beneficial

Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine powered material handling equipment.

Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices, knowledge of the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements.

Experience with industrial equipment that involves lifting / rigging, maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment.

Experience aligning above equipment, using dial indicators/calipers, micrometers, hoists or jacks is a plus.

Refer to and follow technical manuals, policies, safety requirements and industry standards

Do paperwork for inspections, authorization forms and provincial certification forms manually and on a computer

Learn and share what you know; mentor apprentices and semi-skilled helpers and participate in safety and environmental meetings and training programs

Able to accurately enter data and information into a computer (AssetWorks M5 experience is an asset)

Possess a valid Red Seal Certification as a Heavy Equipment Technician (HET).

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with open pit mine mobile equipment.

Extensive experience with Hitachi, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Deere, and Volvo equipment is required.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Specialize in CAT 797 Haul Truck and/or Hydraulic Shovel Maintenance & Repair.

Perform routine checks on dozers, haul trucks, excavators, and other heavy construction and mining equipment to ensure optimal performance.
