Heavy Equipment Road Technician Jobs in Langdon, Alberta

Good organization and time management skills;

Efficiently plan and manage repairs and scheduled maintenance;

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;

Experience reading schematics (Electrical and hydraulic);

Strong knowledge in hydraulic, electric, and electronic;

Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills;

Journeyman certification in Heavy Equipment Technician with a minimum of 5 years in the trade

Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software plus an aptitude to learn new software applications and systems

Dual certification or additional certification in Agriculture Equipment Technician, Automotive Service Technician and/or Parts Technician trade(s)

Experience with Heavy Equipment engines and diesel fuel systems

Experience with heavy equipment On-Road, transmissions, clutches, differentials, air brakes, hydraulics, hydraulic brakes, trailers and electrical

Experience with Agricultural equipment, sprayers, combines, balers, etc. is considered an asset

3 Years of experience in Heavy Equipment

Strong communication and people skills

Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics, electrical, schematics, and diagnostics

Inspect and repair heavy off road equipment (CAT, Volvo, Komatsu)

Perform incidental welding on equipment

Diagnose defects and perform repairs in the shop and on the road

Specialty Dealer Training Provided with Certification

Drug and alcohol testing which may be swab or urine depending on site requirements

Must have between (5) and (10) years' Journeyperson experience

Off Road experience is REQUIRED

Experience with CAT E.T. and S.I.S. and/or Komatsu is REQUIRED

Experience with CAT Scrapers is Beneficial

Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine powered material handling equipment.

Experience with industrial equipment that involves lifting / rigging, maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment.

Experience aligning above equipment, using dial indicators/calipers, micrometers, hoists or jacks is a plus.

Refer to and follow technical manuals, policies, safety requirements and industry standards

Do paperwork for inspections, authorization forms and provincial certification forms manually and on a computer

Learn and share what you know; mentor apprentices and semi-skilled helpers and participate in safety and environmental meetings and training programs

Able to accurately enter data and information into a computer (AssetWorks M5 experience is an asset)

Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills

Education: Trade certification, Journeyman Red Seal and/or currently registered in a related Provincial Apprenticeship program.

Communicate equipment servicing needs as required with Branch Supervisor/Manager.

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with open pit mine mobile equipment.

Work with Service Manager to prioritize and review repair orders to meet field demands.

On Road Certification is required.

3-5 years HET experience, preferred.

Experience with fleet vehicles considered an asset.

Diagnose, repair, and maintain fleet vehicles and equipment.

Perform all repairs in a timely manner.

· Communicating directly with management, as well as field staff.

Wages will depend on experience, knowledge of equipment, tools etc.

· Strong electrical troubleshooting capabilities

· Welding and fabrication experience preferred

· Prior pump experience is considered an asset but not required

· Previous experience as a pump mechanic
