We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in the mining and construction industry. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various types of heavy construction and mining equipment. This includes performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring that the equipment meets or exceeds manufacturer's specifications. The work will be conducted both in the shop and in the field.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct regular checks on dozers, haul trucks, excavators, and other heavy construction and mining equipment to ensure proper performance.
-Inspect equipment for defects, malfunctions, or other issues.
-Use computerized and other testing equipment to diagnose faults and malfunctions accurately.
-Repair and replace defective parts, components, and systems as necessary.
-Test the repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and adherence to manufacturer's specifications.
-Carry out work in both shop and field settings.
Qualifications:
-Possess a valid Red Seal Certification.
-Minimum of 3 years of experience working with large construction and open pit mining equipment.
-In-depth experience with CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, and Hitachi equipment is a must.
-Excellent troubleshooting and technical skills.
-Superior mechanical aptitude and a complete set of mechanics tools up to 3/4" drive.
-Familiarity with shop and/or field work environments.
-Ability to complete a Respirator Fit test and wear a mask at any time while at work, including compliance with facial hair requirements for a complete seal.
-Willingness to work in a remote location.
