Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician, Earth Moving

The extensiveness of Liebherr's construction machines program is like no other!

As an OEM manufacturer, the highest quality standards are achieved by in-house production of main components developed and manufactured by Liebherr. In this role, you will support our fast-growing Earth Moving division to train and work on loaders, dozers and excavators. As our newest Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work with and support experienced Liebherr Technicians to safely and effectively maintain Earth Moving machinery in our Acheson workshop.

Responsibilities

• Testing machines before and after repair procedures
• Accurate and timely submission of reports and technical document including service reports
• Following company-created checklists to inspect and test vehicles
• Adhere to company health, environment and safety policies
• Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled
• Cleaning of equipment pre- and post- repair
• Maintaining the workshop and customer areas and keeping inventory areas well-organized
• Attend classroom training as required and complete a recognized apprenticeship framework to a high standard
• Performing standard electrical/mechanical repairs
• Other duties as assigned
• Learning repair techniques under the supervision of the Journeyman

Competencies

• Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings
• You are currently completing your Heavy Equipment Red Seal certification
• You are able to effectively communicate detailed and complex information in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to work with computers and Microsoft Office suite
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components
• You are self-motivated with the ability to work alone, unsupervised for extended periods of time
