As an Outpost Technician, you will prepare locomotive and coach equipment to dispatch into passenger rail service and provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and repairing electrical/mechanical problems. A role model for timekeeping, and a team player, who demonstrates organizational commitment and awareness. Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions, as well as in a 24-hour, 7 days a week working environment and must work safely and follow all work procedures. Technical Skills/knowledge

• Equipment Fault finding with corresponding repairs.
• Complete interior and exterior inspections of the coach, including all subsystems and safety equipment.
• Record keeping
• Familiarity with both machanical and electrical power and control systems
• Proficient in English reading, writing and speaking skills required.
• Capable of using computers and computer control systems
• Capable of reading and understanding electrical drawings and maintenance manuals
• Traveling off-site to outpost locations for repairs, troubleshoot and repairing equipment.
• Experience using DVM, Amp clamp-on meter, Meggar, oscilloscope, power tools and hand tools
• Perform scheduled inspections and unscheduled repairs, including component replacements on coaches / Locos.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class G Driver’s license.
• Minimum of 1- year work experience in the Mechanical and Electrical maintenance field.

• Certificate or License in related field
