Technical computer skills required on all forms of hardware - laptops, tablets and mobile devices

Lead, develop, and motivate a team of Front Desk Specialists in Whistler, BC.

Assist with the creation and delegation of maintenance and housekeeping tickets (If applicable)

Coordinate activities with other hotel departments in order to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction as Manager on Duty

Requires exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

Must possess advance computer skills.

Ensure efficient guest registration, check out and telephone services.

Ensure all front office associates utilize proper guest relations techniques so that guests are handled both courteously and professionally.

Responsible for hiring, training and directing all front office associates.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing role

Experience with scheduling, booking, and managing appointments

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field (may be substituted with relevant experience)

Experience in a swim school or fitness center is a plus

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Washing, drying and folding laundry

Phone and in person reservations

Having a positive, friendly, customer-focused attitude.

Informing guests about hotel features and amenities including local attractions.

Ability to be on feet for long periods of time

Employee gift card to be used on products, restaurant or experiences

Previous guest service/ front desk experience

Understanding of what it takes to complete housekeeping duties and some experience with supervising housekeeping staff an asset.

Basic computer skills including word and excel

Reports to: Boutique Hotel Manager - Riverbend

Full time hours year-round if desired

-Well organized with strong time management skills;

-Previous hotel experience, specifically in the Rooms Division Department;

-Demonstration of supervisor skills; good judgment and common sense;

-Superior written and oral communication skills;

-Minimum of two years of experience in similar position;

-Control the activities of the Front Office, Reservations, Guest Activities, and ensure policies and procedures are followed;

Reviews renovation plans and projects specific to Front Desks. Provides feedback to external partners and Facilities Management.

Carries out other related duties as necessary in keeping with the qualifications and requirements of the job.

Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion

The Senior Manager leads on a number of departmental projects and participates in strategic planning for the department.

Develops, implements, manages and assesses student-centered processes and systems.

Manages complex and extremely sensitive concerns raised by staff.

Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management or similar program

Previous experience in a senior, high-end hotel leadership role (3-5 years preferred).

Professional communication skills, problem-solving and etiquette, suited to a high-end hotel.

Working closely with the Sunshine Mountain Lodge Food and Beverage Manager to oversee effective service.

oProvide hotel guest activities to enhance the experience particularly after hours.

oBeing able to effectively manage guest recovery, resulting in positive outcomes for all parties.

Food Handling Certification is required

Responsible Beverage Certification is required

Front desk experience is considered an asset

Greet arriving guests, check in and assign rooms

Take, cancel and change room reservations

Provide information on hotel facilities and guest services
