Strong relationship management and stakeholder relations expertise and the ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically across and within diverse organizational units.

Advise and consult with Department Heads and Administrators to ensure financial roles and responsibilities are defined and carried out.

Build and maintain relationships internally and externally on matters relating to medical school finances or other practices and issues of interest.

Considerable administrative leadership experience at a senior level within a complex organization.

Experience successfully managing a broad range of large administrative units including oversight of complex budgets and significant change projects.

Manages the preparation of monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts to ensure time

Directs the design, maintenance and monitoring of an accounting system including accounts payable, accounts receivables, payroll and general ledger.

Prepares the monthly and annual financial statements and ensures the filing of quarterly payroll tax returns via payroll vendor.

Directs and coordinates all insurance reimbursement activity such as with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance forms.

Prepares data for audits and oversees audit process.

Oversees patient billing and collection functions.

10 plus years of Management experience in accounting is required.

Experience with various investment vehicles is an asset

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are a must

Recommend and implement process improvements to ensure finance function operates effectively and efficiently

Coordinate payroll processing and accounting with Volaris Finance (for USA employees)

Minimum of 5 years of financial management or Controllership experience.

Ability and willingness to lead people – people leadership and management experience will be a definite asset

Support the Controller and provide assistance with collections, cash management, invoicing, compensation calculations and oversee the accounting staff.

Professional accounting designation required (CPA). An alternative combination of education and experience may be considered for the right candidate.

Manage external audit process and requests.

Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including filing HST returns.
