We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity with a Waterloo based organization that is looking to hire a Director of Finance to lead the accounting department. This is a great opportunity for an experience CPA who is looking to lead a small team enjoys working in day-to-day accounting while also assisting with strategic decisions. In this role you will manage and lead a team of 3 responsible for team handling the accounting, investment and tax reporting requirements of a privately-held family company.

Responsibilities:
- Monitors and directs the monthly, quarterly and year-end activities of the accounting and finance group to ensure timely and complete fulfillment of all requirements
- Lead analysis for key business decisions
- Prepare and present annual budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare annual operating budgets
- Prepare monthly financial reporting package
- Lead the finance team
- Other projects as required.
- Work with various external parties such as external accountants/auditors, investment custodians, bankers and taxing authorities
Job Requirements:
- 10 plus years of Management experience in accounting is required.
- Experience with various investment vehicles is an asset
- Must have experience working for a large or midsized private family-owned company OR you are currently working in Public Accounting as a Senior Manager with large and midsize private clients
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are a must
- To be considered you must have your CPA desigantion
