Credit Underwriting Specialist Jobs

Relevant post-secondary education with a Diploma/Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.

Manage the pre-authorized debits of customer accounts.

Identify problem accounts and provide regular reviews and updates to Credit Manager.

Manage the aged debtor listing for the portfolio of various Credit Card and Commercial Accounts with account balances over terms.

3+ years of accounts receivable and collections experience in a fast-paced, large volume, multi-transaction, and multi-class of trade environment.

Strong computer skills, and ability to leverage technology to efficiently run the department.

Consumer products credit analysis experience with attendance of trade groups including retail, foodsolutions, Canada and export business areas.

Experience with credit trade groups and CRF a plus

Knowledge of D&B, trade and bank references and financial statement analysis

Responsibilities Could Include And Not Limited To

Responsible to provide support to the 3rd party collections team.

Process timely release of orders from credit hold; supporting the business while mitigating risk.

5 – 8 years work experience in individual underwriting, three of which has been at an intermediate level

Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, internet and database computer software

Comprehensive knowledge of medical and financial terminology

Well-developed analytical and problem resolution skills

Provide Underwriting opinion on contestable and non-contestable claims including providing recommendations on complex claims issues, policy provisions and payments.

Post-Secondary Education OR equivalent industry education and experience

Minimum 7 years of Financial Institutions or Financial Lines experience managing a large and diverse book of business from multiple brokers

Risk analysis and technical skills

Strong analysis and decision-making skills

Coverage analysis of manuscript forms with the ability to tailor them to specific client needs

Pricing analysis using data analytics and modeling tools

Monitor and assess competitive factors in the market to keep informed of changing conditions to report to management.

Post-secondary school education and/or equivalent on the job experience.

6. Work collaboratively on special projects and assignments requiring advanced technical skills and knowledge.

Maintain knowledge of industry trends, developments, and regulatory changes including competitive analysis and information.

Assist in the price monitoring, risk selection and data quality performance reviews for the purpose of building knowledge and expertise.

Provide direction to support staff on data entry into the underwriting and pricing systems.

Minimum of 3 years of industry experience as a financial planner with an insurance specialty.

Manage an assigned book of investment business encompassing primarily term deposits and mutual funds

Share industry trends and product knowledge with branch proactively or through regularly scheduled branch meetings.

3 years’ experience in front line position within a financial institution with proven sales experience in RRSP/Investment deposits

Experience selling 3rd Party Mutual Funds

Experience managing a portfolio of clients

Provide consultative services when required for mutual fund investment related member interactions managed by branch management and staff

Previous experience with insurance business development and sales would be an asset.

Support, coaches and mentors other employees on business development, sales skills, and relationship management.

Considered an expert in the Management Liability fields with advanced knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry.

Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong ability to multi-task.

Responsible to profitably grow a large portfolio through superior risk selection and strong broker relationships within the Management Liability space.

Regularly leads broker and client meetings effectively and is seen as an expert in the Management Liability space.

Mentors and guides others in planning, time management, productivity, and efficiency.

Assist with budgeted profitability targets as identified by senior management for the zone

Post-secondary education OR equivalent industry training and experience.  Insurance industry accreditation is desirable

Manage and service an existing renewal book of commercial property insurance of the AIG Central Canadian Property portfolio 

Minimum 5 years of experience managing a large and diverse portfolio of property business including large, complex risks

Experience working with loss control engineering data in a property underwriting context

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Apply payments in absence of cash application clerk.
