Job Description
Work at CBC/Radio-Canada
At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. Our successes and accomplishments are driven by embodying and upholding values, which include creativity, integrity, inclusiveness and relevance.
Do you think you have the ability and drive to keep up with this exciting, ever-changing industry? Whether it be in front of the camera, on air, online or behind the scenes, you would be joining a team that thrives on making connections and telling stories that are important to Canadians.
Your role
Join the People & Culture team on an exciting journey to transform the way we leverage Workday to empower and enable our employees and managers.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, People Systems, the Functional Business Analyst will be a critical member of the People Systems team responsible for the configuration and evolution of our HR technology ecosystem, Workday, with a specific focus on our Pension and Benefits module. As a Functional Business Analyst you will collaborate closely with business process owners to understand their HR programs, define requirements, deliver enhancements, and provide system solution recommendations that will meet the needs of the business and facilitate effective and efficient HR processes. If you are a critical thinker, with a process mindset and a passion for driving operational efficiency, this is the role for you!
For this permanent role, we are seeking candidates with experience in one or more of the following functional Workday modules:
  • Pension and Benefits
This position can be located in Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto and travel may be required. Please note that this is a hybrid role.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities may include the following types of tasks in your relevant functional domains:
  • Collaborate with HR process owners to understand People & Culture and business context, particularly in the domains of Pension and Benefits, to translate business requirements into system solutions that will effectively support programs and policies.
  • Provide system administrator tasks including system performance monitoring, functional configuration, security, workflow, control table maintenance, development of custom fields, bulk data loads and reporting in support of these administrative functions.
  • Follow strong governance around documentation of systems changes.
  • Partner closely with the technical IT team to design, develop, test and implement related or interfaced solutions.
  • Stay abreast of new functionality and roadmap features that would support HR program strategies or an overall enhanced user experience, suggesting to HR process owners opportunities to leverage Workday to support their programs.
  • Manage and execute incoming support tickets as well as ongoing system improvement tasks.
  • Configure, test and implement system approved business requirement changes.
  • Gather and define business requirements, providing advice and guidance that follow effective design principles and guidelines.
  • Ensure cross functional system impacts are considered in your design and have an end-to-end business process perspective to your recommended solutions, which include reporting and workflow impacts.
  • Participate in the development of training and adoption strategies, including communication to end users.
  • Review, test and implement bi-annual Workday releases including analysis to determine impact and opportunities to business processes, presenting suggested new features.
We Are Looking For a Candidate With The Following
  • Demonstrated business acumen.
  • Innovative thinking, clear analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to explain technology concepts and issues in a manner that business partners understand.
  • The ability to build strong and effective relationships at senior levels and clearly articulate your ideas, influence and facilitate conversation to drive consensus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • 2+ years of progressive experience working directly with Workday and/or equivalent experience, with particular preference for experience with the Pension and Benefits module configuration.
  • Bilingual: French and English is an asset.
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
