Waste Diversion Ambassador (Casual)

Opportunity

MacEwan University is seeking an individual for a casual opportunity as Waste Diversion Ambassador with the Facilities department.

The Waste Diversion Ambassador will provide clear and concise instructions on how to properly use and sort waste into the upgraded bins into the right waste streams. You will answer questions about environmental impacts of compos, address concerns and provide guidance on waste diversion during one-on-one interactions or group discussions. You will collaborate with campus sustainability teams to develop engaging educational materials.

Skills

The successful candidate will have:

• The ability to deliver engaging presentations and workshops to diverse audiences.
• Detail-oriented skills with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and programs on campus is an asset.
• Self-motivation and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of waste diversion practices, recycling guidelines, and composting techniques is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong passion for sustainability and waste management practices.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at MacEwan University.
