Casual Waste Facility Labourer Jobs

Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools

Minimum of 1 year previous construction or similar labour experience preferred

Knowledge of workplace safety, and safe lifting and handling procedures

Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred

Must be able to get to and from site

Valid Drivers License and clean abstract preferred

Previous labour experience is considered an asset but is not required.

Moving boxes or other items.

Ability to lift 50+ pounds unassisted.

Good attitude and work ethic.

Must own steel toed safety boots.

Knowledge and or experience with WHMIS

Experience working for a municipality

High school diploma or equivalent

Confident in reading and writing reports and other documents

Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50lbs

Ability to follow directions and instructions

Strong passion for sustainability and waste management practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Detail-oriented skills with a strong sense of responsibility.

Basic knowledge of waste diversion practices, recycling guidelines, and composting techniques is preferred.

The ability to deliver engaging presentations and workshops to diverse audiences.

Self-motivation and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Skill in the use of computer programs (email software, Facility Scheduling).

Provides regular maintenance and service to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, pool/arena facilities and mechanical equipment, and boiler systems.

Monitor and adjust water treatment chemicals as required.

Operate and perform routine maintenance on a variety of equipment including ice flooding machines and small tractors.

Position Title: Shop Labourer - Facility Experience

Assisting in piping bolt up, structural steel setting and other various tasks associated with facility construction

Act as a spotter for heavy equipment

Communicate work progress and safety performance to the site supervision

Ensure the operation and maintenance of the facility according to SOPs and the maintenance schedule.

Track and log all incoming and outgoing fluid in line with facility licenses and approvals.

Maintain a safe, clean, and friendly work environment.

Carry out regular maintenance and equipment upkeep.

Understand, follow, and operate according to the Emergency Response Plan (ERP), adhering to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.

Stay updated with current safety and regulatory documentation, including License, Approvals, and training records.

Ensure the operation and maintenance of the facility according to SOPs and the maintenance schedule.
