Casual Procurement Labourer Jobs

Procurement Labourer assists with the stock/inventory control for all City departments including the warehousing and shipping/receiving for the organization.

Duties include picking up of goods at the airport/ sealift and other delivery methods, verifying items received with packing slips, performing data entries related to all items, reporting on any damaged goods or discrepancies with orders to the shipper/supplier and delivering items to the assigned department or warehouse location.

The incumbent must be dependable, punctual, physically fit, and must be willing to work in harsh outdoor weather conditions. They must also be responsible and capable to work independently, as well as in a team setting and be able to handle working under time constraints. Previous experience working in a Municipality and the ability to communicate in Inuktitut is an asset.

What is required of this position?

• Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Class 5 Driver’s License
• Ability to follow directions and instructions
• Confident in reading and writing reports and other documents
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Capability to perform duties safely and efficiently

Assets include:

• Experience working for a municipality
• The ability to speak in Inuktitut and or French
• Knowledge and or experience with WHMIS

Equivalencies that include a combination of education, knowledge, skills and abilities to formal education may be considered.

Due to the nature of this position, a Criminal Record and driver’s abstract are required of this position.
