Experiences Canada is seeking qualified volunteers to serve on our Board of Directors.

Experiences Canada is a national registered charity that helps young Canadians to explore their country in ways they may never have imagined through reciprocal exchanges, forums, conferences and other opportunities to travel and connect with one another.

Mission: Experiences Canada offers transformational learning opportunities accessible to youth across Canada – creating fun, safe, memorable experiences that deepen their connection to their community and their country, enrich personal relationships and build confidence and skills.

Qualifications:

We are searching for candidates who:

-Are committed to the mission, vision, and values of Experiences Canada to offer life-changing experiences to young Canadians.

-Have experience and skills in one or more of the following areas: Accounting-public practice, corporate fundraising, media, government relations, and previous board experience.

-Have relevant knowledge and experience in issues related to youth, education, and experiential learning.

-Bilingualism is considered an asset

Expectations of Board Members

At Experiences Canada, the Board's principal role is oversight and strategic direction.Board Members serve two-year terms up to a maximum of three consecutive terms. Board members are to attend 4 board meetings per year, including 2 in-person meetings over the duration of a weekend. Each Board member also participates on one or more Board Committees, which meet virtually approximately once per quarter. On average, each Board Member commits a minimum of 4 hours per month to Board participation with busier months requiring more time.

All board members are required to be a paid member in good standing ($250 per year) and to contribute an amount to annual fundraising efforts to the level they are comfortable giving.
