We have a newly created role of a Vice President of Finance to join COBS Bread where they will be directly responsible for the financial health of the Canada and USA market. This position will play a critical role in developing and implementing the long-term financial strategy and growth in both markets at different stages of their lifecycle. As a member of the senior leadership team, the VP of Finance will be partnering with the President to set strategic priorities and objectives to meet ambitious corporate goals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Represent COBS Bread in dealings with our bankers, suppliers, legal advisers, major clients and others as required.
• Ensure strategic plan improves the long-term health of the corporate and franchise balance sheet
• Be a trusted leader to Finance Leadership Team by means of communicating the vision, expectations and ensuring established deadlines are met
• Direct the collection of financial and accounting information and the preparation of budgets, reports, forecasts, and consolidated profit and loss reports.
• Working with the Executive Team and partnering with the VP of USA to develop, implement and measure the market entry and expansion of the USA business
• Recognize, communicate and consult with senior managers to make recommendations and devise financial policy approaches and strategies to resolve challenges facing the organization
• Establish and direct COBS Bread’s financial administrative activities and operational procedures to ensure honest, accurate reporting and consistent alignment with all entities / markets.
• Identify, drive and deliver strategies for COBS Bread long-term growth in North America
• Partner with the Group Head of Data, Commercial Analyst and Group CFO to develop, establish and implement aligned reporting and data insights.
• Other duties as assigned
• Give assessments of proposals involving financial expenditure and the status of operational projects.
• Co-ordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of financial accounting and related systems, working closely with the Group’s global director of IT

Requirements

What You Bring to the Table

• Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and government agencies.
• Excellent communication skill, written and verbal when presenting to various audiences
• Proven experience in strategic planning, contract management, and execution
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
• CPA or CA designation required
• Proven ability to manage, motivate and develop a high performing team
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, manage conflict and negotiate effectively
• High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections using data sources from IT, Business Intelligence tools and various data reports
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Experience with multinational and cross border is preferred
• 5+ years of experience in executive level finance position
• Extensive, experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management.
• Experience in retail or hospitality in franchising is preferred
• High-level of critical thinking, problem-solving skills and prioritization
• Valid driver’s licence and occasional travel is required
