TechInsights is currently in search of a skilled Test Automation Manager to become a part of our Ottawa Office team. The Test Automation Technical Manager will oversee the Test Automation strategy to ensure QA and development teams implement and practice sustainable automated testing initiatives.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement automated test scripts using various tools and technologies.
• Co-work with development to ensure software deliverables meet test-automation requirements.
• Analyze and report on test results and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Train and mentor team members on automation testing best practices and techniques.
• Personnel Management and Mentoring:
• Drive internal and external teams to meet bug-fix turnaround requirements.
• Manage and maintain automation test data and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain automation test strategy and framework.
• Develop reports and dashboards that show current status as well as planning and initiatives metrics.
• Analyze and report on test results and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to identify and prioritize test cases for automation.
• Run regular staff meetings and track progress and contribution of automation teams members
• Strategy development and Technical Leadership
• Participate in project planning and estimation activities.
• Continuously evaluate and improve automation testing processes and tools.

Who You Are

• A team player with a thirst for continuous learning.
• Adaptable to changing priorities, capable of handling multiple tasks, and working under time constraints.
• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related/equivalent.
• Previous experience leading small technical teams like software developers, automation developers, or engineers.
• Inspired and fearless attitude to try new things!
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using test automation tools and techniques such as Postman, Katalon, Rest Assured, Selenium.
• Experience with defect management tools like Jira, Bugzilla, Zoho.
• Strong administrative, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Experience with software code repositories and/or CMS platforms such as Bitbucket, Github, GitLab, CVS.
• Self-motivated, proactive in dealing with challenges and seizing opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• Experience with software development practices and Agile methodology.
