Software Test & Automation Developer
Location: Preference is onsite in Ottawa but open to 100% remote candidates
Format: Contract
Term: 12 Months + Potential Extension
From applied research to advanced engineering, 5G R&D team is developing ground-peaking products & solutions, as a first-ever go-to-market for the company in this space. It’s a fascinating field of work. Our contributions will drive product architecture and implementation in support of building something from the ground up, all while working with colleagues across the business to ensure Dell products always lead the way.
As a L1 Software Test and Automation Developer, you will be responsible for automating manual processes and contributing to our automation framework.
ROLE
The Software Automation Developer will be a key member of a pand new, built from the ground up, high powered Ottawa R&D team.? The team works as part of our global 5G R&D organization designing, developing, and implementing a technology new to the organization for addressing the demands of the 5G Radio subsystem for operators, and helping our customers exploit this significant market evolution.?
The candidate for this role will have experience in CI/CD, and software automation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Optimize and improve existing CI/CD processes to enhance speed, efficiency and quality of the deliverables
- Monitor and analyze existing pipeline execution, triage failures
- Build and maintain scalable, reliable pipelines in Jenkins
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a team player
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in Python, and familiar with common Python liparies
- Experience with source control systems, such as git
- 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of IP network and protocols – IPv4, DHCP, etc.
- Experience integrating with continuous integration / continuous delivery systems, such as Jenkins
- Comfortable with Bash shell scripting, and Linux CLI
