Technician/Designer, Industrial Piping (3 Years Or Less Of Experience)

Your future role on our team

Your role as a technician or designer in Industrial Piping will be to model and design industrial piping systems to prepare drawings, specifications and other technical documents. Additionally, you must ensure quality service and maintain strong internal client relationships by contributing to projects for mining and metallurgical process, heavy industry and petrochemicals.

• Participate in technical audits on site
• In collaboration with engineering teams, design innovative solutions to any problems encountered
• Prepare 2D drawings (dimensioning, marking, texts and notes)
• Prepare material lists and bills of materials according to codes, standards, drawings and other established procedures in accordance with BBA’s quality system requirements
• Occasionally coordinate the work of drafters or others at the request of a senior engineer
• Perform technical information surveys
• Perform detailed calculations, where necessary
• Coordinate the layout of mechanical equipment and the structure
• Help coordinate and supervise the work and commissioning of the designed systems, where necessary
• Prepare drawings and specifications from guidelines for industrial piping mandates
• Produce 2D drawings and extract isometrics
• Under the supervision of senior staff, carry out the 3D design of piping systems

Overview Of Certifications And Job Requirements

• Asset: ASP Construction card
• Experience in the heavy industry sector (mining, petrochemicals, energy, etc.)
• College diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology
• Available for short- and long-term (asset) work assignments at client sites in Québec and across Canada
• Asset: knowledge of SolidWorks, Revit, SmartPlant 3D, CADWorx and AutoCAD applications
• Three years of experience or less
• Asset: multidisciplinary knowledge (electricity and automation)
• Asset: bilingual (English and French)
• Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite, like Excel, as well as databases and interfaces
