The successful candidate will be dedicated to a top-tier client’s oil sands operation and work on a field rotation schedule of 15 days on site (including mobilization and demobilization) followed by 15 days off. Accommodation while on rotation is at a camp near the client’s site. Travel to and from Fort McMurray, Calgary, or Edmonton is via the client’s charter flights and bus service.

A commitment to a minimum period of 24 months on the rotation schedule is required.

Overall Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities

• Perform tasks as requested efficiently and accurately, using standard methods and techniques;
• On-site safety documentation;
• Potable water sampling;
• Tracking and reporting on field activity; and
• Preparing supporting documentation for reports, data checking & assessments;
• Groundwater and surface water monitoring;

Qualifications

• Experience in either the oil and gas industry or mining is considered an asset; and
• 0-3 years of practical experience in environmental monitoring;
• Class 5 driver’s licence;
• Diploma in enviromental monitoring program is an asset;
• Familiarity with Argo operation would be beneficial.
