Laboratory Technician I - Dna Extraction (Dna)

The Laboratory Technician I-DNA performs laboratory tests and services to support customer data generation through sample processing and DNA extraction. This role involves the use of various scientific techniques, instrumentation, and disciplines by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory cleaning duties.
• Performs sample and reagent preparation, DNA extraction and isolation, quality analysis prior to genotyping, analysis of reagents for performance, and other related tasks.
• Assist in maintaining the laboratory, including ordering supplies and equipment, calibrating instruments, performing preventative maintenance, and assuring a clean and safe environment.
• Meet individual and departmental goals and objectives.
• Provide input to the best ways to maximize laboratory efficiency.
• Maintains accurate laboratory notebooks and other documentation.
• Assist in the training of new employees.
• Follows established SOP’s accurately and efficiently, supporting ISO procedures.
• Perform a variety of molecular biological techniques.
• Practice good communication and collaboration with colleagues.
• Other duties as assigned.
