Laboratory Technician C - Seasonal

Laboratory Technician C – Seasonal

AGAT Laboratories is currently looking for Laboratory Technicians for a Seasonal opportunity to join our Environmental Trace Organics team working out of our Calgary location. The Laboratory Technician C is the entry level position in the laboratory. This position is given direction from the Laboratory Supervisor and other Laboratory team members and assists with administrative and basic laboratory activities.

Schedule: Saturday to Wednesday from 8am to 5:00pm

Duties:

• With guidance from senior staff perform maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
• Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions
• Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal
• Other duties as assigned.
• Report results
• Perform basic analysis
• Operate instruments

Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment
• Technical Diploma/degree in Science or equivalent lab experience is required
• Intermediate Computer Skills
• Experience using GC an asset
• Fluent in English, both oral and written communication
• Experience using volumetric devices
• Basic laboratory skills and familiarity with lab processes

Work Environment: This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
