Job Description

Katal Energy is currently looking to fill the role of Fuel Process Technician located in Calgary, AB.


The ideal candidate would possess the following (but not limited to):


·Basic understanding of diesel and/or natural gas power systems

·Strong mechanical and problem-solving aptitude

·Ability to use various hand/power tools

·Forklift experience (preferred but not required)

·Strong communication skills

·Ability to work alone or in a team

·Ability to follow and give directions

·Basic computer skills

·Strong excel skills


Typical duties would include (but not limited to):


·Installation and operation of prototype fuel processing equipment

·Installation and maintenance of test engines

·Operating test engines to collect emissions data and fuel consumption

·Logging and compiling test engine data

·Running emissions kit on internal test engines and in the field on select customer assets

·Collection of samples for quality assurance

·Forklift operation/materials handling

·Basic shop maintenance


Working conditions and physical requirements would include (but not limited to):


·Warehouse and yard work

·Standing for extended periods

·Ability to lift +50lbs

·Working with chemicals following MSDS and PPE guidelines

·Working in physically awkward positions (short term) for equipment maintenance

·Working in the field with clients

·Evening, weekend and overnight work trips may be required
