Team Lead - Incident Response

If so, read on. My client, a large insurance company in Canada is looking for a Team Lead - incident response to join their team.

This is a permanent role and can be based anywhere in Canada. It involves people management (50%), vendor management (30)% and technical (20%) proficiency.

What you'll do:

• Conduct in-depth analysis of security incidents, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews. Prepare comprehensive incident reports for management
• Direct the team in executing the incident response process, ensuring timely and appropriate actions are taken to minimize the impact of incidents
• Lead and mentor a team of incident response analysts, ensuring a high level of technical proficiency, effective communication, and a proactive approach to security incidents.
• Oversee the monitoring and analysis of security alerts, logs, and event data to identify potential security incidents promptly
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and implement proactive measures to enhance the organization's security posture.
• Continuously enhance incident response procedures and policies to strengthen the incident response capabilities of the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC) are a plus.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance standards relevant to the organization (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
• Demonstrated experience in leading teams
• Solid understanding of network security, malware analysis, and intrusion detection systems.
• In-depth knowledge of incident response methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Experience at insurance or financial services companies an asset
• Proven experience in incident response, cybersecurity, or a related field, with at least 7 years of hands-on experience in managing and responding to security incidents.
