- Provide leadership, direction, guidance, and support to the Production staff.
- Organize the Production labor schedule or modify it as needed.
- Have the necessary computer skills to be able to set up and/or adjust the blending programs (recipes) and work with the Maestro system.
- Ensure all production process “occurrences” are recorded and reported accordingly.
- Ensure safe conditions, housekeeping, and work procedures are updated within the work environment.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and GMPs to ensure the highest quality product possible.
- Manage and update the raw material and ingredients inventory.
- Ensure all documentation is filled out as directed by HACCP procedures and the Production Manager.
- When senior person in the plant, provide guidance to employees in other areas of the plant as needed.
- Report incidents (within or beyond their control) to QA or management.
- Transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment.
- Assist with resolution of breakdowns, give direction to maintenance staff, and provide information to assist in identifying causes.
- Be familiar with Health & Safety, HACCP, and all other company policies and ensure that procedures are being followed.
- Adhere to the Production schedule and adjust schedule as necessary when unexpected occurrences dictate.
- Ensures KPI targets are achieved including safety, quality, efficiencies, cost, and health and safety.
- Report shift performance using the metrics stablished by the management.
- Develop positive, motivating, and efficient communication with all employees.
- Maximize profitability of the Production department through efficient use of raw material, productive use of available labour and control of overhead costs.
- Proven leadership skills and strong team orientation.
- Knowledge and expertise on MS Office, Maestro, SAP, etc. considered an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
- Business Administration degree or related course considered an asset.
- Must be self-motivated, results oriented and possess high degree of initiative, and work well with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in food or any related industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
