Quality Technician - Night Shift

Shoreline Fruit is the largest tart cherry producer in North America operating nearly 7000 acres of cherry orchards right here in Michigan, producing over 40 million pounds of cherries each year. Night Shift: 6:45 p.m. 7:00 a.m. working Tuesday-Friday (3-day vacation & overtime every week!)
Responsibilities: Our quality technicians conduct many different tests to determine the quality of our raw, bulk intermediate, and finished products.

• Perform various duties within the Quality Department upon request.
• Follow all Food Safety, Plant Security and GMP policies.
• Testing to include in process checks, pH, sugar brix, allergen, ATP, water activity, and moisture testing on in-process and finished product.
• Perform daily lab tests ensuring accuracy and timeliness, working with the Quality Department and team concerning any discrepancies.
• Conduct all inspections as required per a variety of quality and company programs.
• Monitor all quality attributes of raw materials as established; including fruits, liquid sugar, syrup, and packaging materials.
• Perform visual and analytical inspections of equipment prior to process starts and conduct as required during processing activities.

• Overtime pay for hours over 40
• Voluntary overtime is available
• Starting pay: $16.00 - $18.25/hr + a $1.00 night shift premium
• Two weeks paid-time-off accrual starts at hire date and can be used after 60 days of employment

Physical Requirements: We are active and on the move during the shift.

• Safety: This position takes place in a lab within the processing facility. GMP includes hair/beard nets, ear plugs, safety glasses, and safety toe shoes.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
• May be on your feet a good portion of the 12 hour shift.
