Reporting to the Manager, Performance and Monitoring, t he Supervisor, Performance and Monitoring supervises staff and activities for a national team that manages national continuous monitoring systems, performs end to end project management for assigned projects and initiatives, and supports the objectives of the Strategic Facilities Management and Business Integration department. You will be responsible for developing and implementing Canadian Blood Services Facilities standards for automated control systems, security/alarming systems, and continuous monitoring systems. You will also be responsible for managing the development, maintenance, and operation of national, network based continuous monitoring systems. As the Supervisor, you are responsible for managing direct reports, allocating resources, and managing activities related to the planning, monitoring and control of department operations.
The Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing specific, medium sized projects or initiatives and/or components of major, complex projects. The Supervisor contributes to information gathering, reporting and analysis of issues and provides the applicable technical advice and support to senior management. The Supervisor works closely with functional business groups and project teams to achieve objectives in accordance with established cost and time parameters.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Plans, coordinates and integrates activities of medium, defined projects, initiatives, and/or specific work streams within major, complex projects as assigned by senior management.
  • Supervises direct reports and allocates team resources.
  • Monitors and reports on project and initiative status.
  • Facilitates and promotes effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Manages activities related to the planning, monitoring and control of department operations.
  • Develops and maintains processes for tracking initiatives and project activities.
Qualifications:
  • Exceptional attention to detail is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 4 years of successful experience in a related field is required.
  • Strong organizational skills, solid time-management, and being able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities within short timelines.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making ability.
  • Well-developed leadership experience with a focus on instructor and coaching skills to be used in a mentor role covering a National Team.
  • Motivated to succeed, ability to think outside the box and deliver results.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Previous experience working within an ISO 9000 or GMP environment, preferably within a health care facility, is an asset.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, with a willingness to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Completion of Post-Secondary level education in a relevant discipline.
  • Project management certification, such as PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, or equivalent is preferred asset.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, management, and customers.
  • A minimum of 3 years of project management experience is asset.
