Superintendent - Construction Jobs

If you are talented and experienced, Aplin has the right opportunity for you! Our Winnipeg-based client is in search of a Superintendent of Construction to join their team.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Superintendent is responsible for monitoring all aspects of the company’s construction projects. He/she will oversee all construction projects from concept to commissioning, including tasks such as safety, finance, risk, resourcing, and scheduling. The superintendent will have a dedicated team of project managers and admins responsible for delivering construction projects on time and on budget. This position will liaise between contractors and internal support departments for construction to ensure construction flow. Negotiating contracts with 3rd party vendors while ensuring contractor performance and quality shall be a requirement.

Qualifications

• Experience in utilizing various construction management software platforms.
• A valid class 5 driver’s license is required.
• Ability to work on internal systems to ensure reporting and deliverables are being met.
• Experience in management of both 3rd party and internal resources.
• Be able to work from multiple locations throughout Southern Manitoba.
• Experience in managing multiple projects across a wide geography.
• Post-secondary preferred but not required.
• Previous work experience in communicating with contractors.
• ArcGIS software experience is an asset.
• Ability to read civil infrastructure drawings.
• Experience in Microsoft Projects is an asset.
• In-depth understanding of infrastructure construction operations and processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office is required.
• Demonstrable experience as a superintendent in infrastructure construction projects.
• Manage project management team with continuous collaboration between departments.
