The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Recruitment, you will act as a SAIT brand ambassador and and work as part of a dedicated action team that supports student recruitment activities for SAIT.

As a Student Recruitment Assistant, you’ll help the team with the coordination and administration of activities for recruitment events, connect with prospective students and key influencers (family members, school counsellors, community members, etc.), to promote SAIT through high school visits, on-campus events, and career and education fairs in Calgary and surrounding areas. This position will also provide information and guidance regarding program offerings, admission requirements, and registration information to prospective students and applicants. In collaboration with the Recruitment Marketing Specialist, the Student Marketing Assistant also supports the planning and implementation of a variety of campus recruitment events such as open houses, group tours, mail-outs and electronic communications with prospective students, applicants, families and school counsellors.

The Role

• Evaluates attended recruitment initiatives by reporting prospective engagement, lead generation, number of publications provided, event attendance, and other meaningful notes describing the purpose and utility of the event for evaluation and future planning purposes
• Responds to program and general inquiries from current and prospective students in person, by email or phone and triages the appropriate staff when required.
• Support all tactical and logistical aspects of events including, but not limited to: researching and scheduling rooms/venues, event logistics, email and web updates, catering/hospitality, decor, entertainment, supplies and promotional items
• Lead campus tours, both virtually and in-person
• Act as a SAIT brand ambassador and peer recruiter at SAIT recruitment events including info sessions, school presentations and open houses
• Performs other duties as required.
• Be available to work weekends and evenings during scheduled events and tours
• Be part of a team committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion by working with a diverse group of students and visitors

Qualifications & Experience

• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with diverse groups of people.
• Google Analytics
• Willing to travel and work evenings and weekends as required
• Familiarity and demonstrated understanding of software/tools
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, colleagues, school administrators
• Working-level skills with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Virtual Event Software
• Tableau (enrollment management system)
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with competing priorities and quick deadlines
• Marketing is looking for current SAIT students who have completed at least one semester of study and are available to work 36.25 hours per week and is in good academic standing. Recent SAIT graduates (within one calendar year may also apply
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Comfortable making presentations to large groups
• Experience in using FreshDesk is considered an asset
• MailChimp (or similar email marketing tool)
