THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role within the Finance team and will be crucial to the client’s projected growth. You will be exposed to a multitude of accounting related responsibilities including:
- Reconciliation of varying balance sheet accounts monthly, quarterly, and annually
- Conducting and managing P&L account review with detailed variance analysis
- Managing banking, treasury, and cash planning, ensuring ongoing covenant compliance
- Review of key contractual documents for equipment, leases, and any major financial obligations
- Assist with annual audit activities, budget planning, and forecast preparation
- Review other team members work and offer guidance with daily tasks and challenges they may encounter
- Initiate scalable accounting processes through tools and new system implementation
- Identify and conduct accounting research with the team, taking a proactive role in reviewing the impact of accounting policies will have on the organization
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual statements (balance sheet, income statement and cash flow) ensuring timely and accurate financial information is being presented
- Support of ad-hoc requests of executive management and internal finance team
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in the manufacturing/construction industry would be an asset but is not required
- 3 + years of accounting experience
- CPA designation or nearing completion of CPA designation
- Advanced level of knowledge in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Experience with both ASPE and IFRS
