TI Corp is a Crown Corporation that has a mandate to deliver $13.3 Billion in major infrastructure on behalf of the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport.
Overview
The Stakeholder Engagement Manager will lead the implementation of engagement plans and strategies with the public and key stakeholders for the Steveston Interchange Project and the Fraser River Tunnel Project. Working with a multi-disciplinary team of subject matter experts, the position will be responsible for managing the relationships and interface with key stakeholders, including municipalities and regional authorities.
We are looking for a candidate with strong project management skills who can work out of our Vancouver (401 West Georgia, Vancouver) and Ladner (5180 Ladner Trunk Road, Delta) offices. The position is eligible for a telework agreement.
Key Accountabilities
- Project manage the development and implementation of project-specific agreements; coordinate with relevant internal teams and external stakeholders to draft and negotiate third-party agreements; and ensure all parties meet their expectations as part of these agreements.
- Engage in meaningful consultation with stakeholders to identify key issues and lead resolution as a part of the overall project engagement strategy.
- Develop and deliver presentations and materials for public and stakeholder engagement activities; represent the projects at stakeholder and community meetings to discuss issues and foster a collaborative approach that supports the success of the projects.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including other levels of government and regional authorities (e.g., municipalities, TransLink).
- Identify potential construction-related issues and guides the development of solutions with parties to minimize negative impacts on stakeholders and remove obstacles that may impact project success.
- Maintain stakeholder tracking and logs to ensure accurate records-keeping and consistency across engagement activities and approaches.
- Develop briefing materials to support reporting to senior-level executives on project progress or key issues.
- Lead and facilitate regular meetings between the organization, contractors (Project Co), and third parties for purposes of information sharing, project management, and issues identification/management.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of public sector decision-making structures and processes at the municipal, regional, provincial, or federal level.
- Exceptional relationship, communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Degree in Urban Planning, Project Management, Communications, Political Science, Social Science, or Business Administration. Relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Sound judgement, excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to anticipate and assess situations and determine the best solution or course of action.
- Experience analyzing potential issues and facilitating the development of solutions to mitigate impacts.
- Considerable and relevant experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, communications or a relevant field related to major infrastructure design and delivery.
- Successful completion of security screening will be required as a condition of employment with TI Corp.
Asset Qualifications
- Familiarity with the principles, methods, practices, and terminology associated with engineering, construction activities and an understanding of design and construction drawings would be an advantage.
- Strong skills in MS PowerPoint and experience in graphic design to create visually appealing and compelling presentations.
- Familiarity with stakeholder management databases such as Jambo, Aurora and StakeTracker.
- Understanding of local culture, jurisdictional mandates, municipal and provincial affairs, and local stakeholder’s priorities.
- International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) training.
