SR MANAGER, COMMUNITY HEALTH ENGAGEMENT (CANADA)


Emergent BioSolutions is currently seeking a Sr Manager, Community Health Engagement (Canada). The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, eight or more years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech sales role and three of more years of experience in an account management role. Must have strong sales acumen with documented sales successes, passion and understanding to assist those suffering from chronic substance abuse and strong critical thinking/problem solving skills. The select candidate will have a working knowledge of the pharmaceutical development process and health care environment and have the ability to build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders. In addition, this individual will possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence and innovation.

THE OPPORTUNITY


The Senior Community Health Engagement Manager is a field-based sales and communication professional responsible for a high volume of account pull-through by building and maintaining effective relationships with public health units, harm reduction organizations, first responders (police, EMS, fire), businesses, school districts, and clinicians, within a designated region. The ideal candidate is a well-spoken, enthusiastic and organized person with the ability to work productively and confidently with all stakeholders, including physicians, mid-level clinicians, as well as municipal leadership.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify and interact with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in assigned territory;
  • Determine and anticipate potential changes within the government and community health care marketplace and alert Government Affairs Partners so the appropriate steps can be initiated;
  • Increase utilization of NARCAN NASAL SPRAY 4MG through effective communication and adherence to a sequential process which includes preparation of client-specific presentations and other data to respond to client needs and effectively gain access;
  • Working collaboratively with the Community Health Engagement Director to establish a region business plan to meet and exceed access and pull-through goals for various account types
  • Establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential referral sources to ensure steady stream of referrals;
  • This role will also work in conjunction with various departments within the organization to drive access and remove barriers to the company’s products;
  • Expand knowledge base by working with Market Access, by: attending key local congresses; reviewing clinical publications; establishing personal networks with abuse deterrent, government and community healthcare partners and participate in local professional societies;
  • Maintain frequent contact with the marketing department regarding key developments, opportunities and requests from KOLs;
  • Develop strategies and tactics to exceed objectives as noted within the regional business plan, and prepare and present an annual territory plan and weekly update reports, analyzing each market channel potential, and Adapt product’s market share, challenges/opportunities.;

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent required.
  • Understanding and passion to assist those suffering from chronic substance abuse, dependency and the associated comorbid conditions.
  • Skilled in presenting and tailoring presentation to audience, engaging audience and adapting to last minute changes.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts using a consultative selling approach.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Prior experience with opioid antagonist or related products and/or experience within substance abuse treatment environment is preferred
  • Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical development process and health care environment.
  • Strong project management skills, ability to manage multiple high priorities, identify resource needs, drive to completion, prepare reports, and evaluate results.
  • Strong business analytic skills to assess potential opportunities across the region
  • Three or more years of experience in an account management role.
  • Extensive travel may be required, including overnights.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders is essential
  • Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
  • Strong sales acumen with documented sales successes.
  • Understanding of how the political environment (both local and national) can affect patient access to products.
  • Eight or more years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech sales role.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Responsibilities may require a work schedule that may include working outside of “normal” work hours, in order to meet business demands.
  • Position requires significant travel which may be by ground or air transport, with frequent overnight stays likely. (40% travel)
  • Frequent public contact requiring appropriate business apparel.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Successful Completion of a Criminal Record Check.
  • Citizenship/Permanent Resident or Valid Work Permit.
