Position Summary
An exciting opportunity exists in our Human Resources Department in Fort Saskatchewan for a Specialist, Talent Management.
The purpose of this position is program and project management of talent programs, processes, practices, key performance indicators, and metrics that ensure Sherritt International has the right people, in the right positions, at the right time to meet current and future business goals.
Accountabilities
- Project manage talent related programs and change initiatives that will occur over a one-year timeframe (e.g., referral programs, development programs, rotational programs);
- Develop, implement, and monitor for quality and effectiveness development and career planning process, tools, resources, data and reporting for key talent identified through succession planning processes;
- Develop and monitor effectiveness talent management programs (i.e. Talent strategy, planning, and management, talent acquisition, employee engagement, workforce planning, succession and development planning) through continuous improvement principles including ensuring supporting resources, tools/templates and presentations are available for employees and leaders;
- Develop and analyze talent management related data and make recommendations for process improvements and policy changes. This includes developing and monitoring KPIs/metrics and producing TM reports and presentations to communicate to key stakeholders;
- Conduct best practices research, meet potential vendors, and make recommendations on policies, processes, forms, programs and systems related to talent management;
- Embed diversity and inclusion principles into TM practices, policies and processes.
- Communicate and maintain relationships with external recruitment and talent vendors. This includes developing social media and digital strategies in collaboration with External Communications (as required) as they relate to recruitment and attraction to promote brand management;
- Recommend and monitor the effectiveness of feedback mechanisms (i.e., exit interview and employee engagement trends) that measure employee experience and engagement throughout the employment life cycle;
Qualifications and Skills
- Program and project management skills
- Analytical skills including data visualization skills to turn data into useful business information
- Change management skills with a drive for continuous improvement
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in TM, Leadership Development, Learning and Development, Performance Management
- Formal training and experience in Microsoft Excel in an asset
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to lead/facilitate training sessions in large groups
- Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources or Business Management. HR Designation (CHRP) an asset
- 5 to 10 years of related experience
