Since 1948, Community Living Toronto has been a source of support for thousands of individuals with an intellectual disability searching for accessible and meaningful ways to live in the community.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the complete high-volume recruitment lifecycle process for Community Living Toronto through sourcing, attracting, recruiting, and selecting top candidates. Engages with hiring managers across Community Living Toronto to understand and be better positioned to respond to their unique hiring requirements. Mentors, coaches, and onboards new and less experienced staff. Required to lead and participate in projects and manage external relationships to create high value sources of continual talent, including seeking passive candidates through leveraging social media.
Key Responsibilities
Projects
You will lead the enterprise-wide student placement strategy. This includes liaison between the Association and schools, development and maintenance of the new graduate hiring strategy, ensuring collaborative partnerships with post-secondary institutions and engagement with community partners for specialized programs.
You will design, develop, and maintain specialized recruitment projects.
You will analyze, report trends, and make actionable recommendations for improvement on key Talent Acquisition data.
Sourcing Candidates
You will initiate and manage end-to-end recruitment for both internal and external hires, sourcing candidates by engaging in both proven and new and innovative talent sourcing methods to source top-notch candidates and develop a future pipeline including, but not limited to, networking, placement agencies, job boards, and campus recruitment.
Screening and Selection
You will be responsible for all aspects of screening and selection including screening of resumes, pre-screening, and interviewing of candidates, coordinating, and supporting interview panels including the development of behavioural based interview guides, reference, and document verification, and offer presentation and onboarding.
Relationship Building and Employer Branding
You will support the Talent Acquisition team in collaboratively developing the employer brand and leading employment marketing initiatives, branding, campaigns, and internal referral programs. You will work with hiring managers to build their capability in the hiring process and support their efforts to recruit top talent.
General Talent Acquisition Support
As a contributor to the success of Community Living Toronto’s Talent Acquisition team you will support activities that ensure the continuous high quality of the Association’s recruitment processes. This will include data collection, contributing to the benchmarking talent acquisition process, working within the requirements of the collective bargaining agreement, and reviewing and making recommendations to the onboarding process and improvement of new employee integration.
As an ambassador for Community Living Toronto, you will create partnerships with post-secondary institutions, engage in community partnerships for specialized programs, while leveraging and promoting the Community Living Toronto brand.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Education & Training
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.
Experience
- A minimum 5 – 6 years of experience in full cycle talent acquisition including accountability for liaising with schools and other stakeholders relevant to building talent pools.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other programs such as SharePoint.
- Knowledge of social media/social networking recruiting tools and sites.
- Effective communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality regarding files, documents and information.
- Ability to engage with all levels of stakeholders from candidate to senior leadership.
- Ability to make decisions within clear guidelines.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively resolve conflicts and build and maintain critical relationships within the Association, and with community partners and post-secondary institutions.
- Working knowledge of applicant tracking systems.
- A strong understanding of current and upcoming trends in campus recruitment tactics to create a pipeline of talent for the Association.
- Working knowledge of behavioural interviewing techniques.
