The Talent Acquisition Specialist is an integral part of the Human Resource team supporting the business units across Canada and the USA. They will bring expertise in the area of talent acquisition and will work with HR and business leaders to develop and implement strategies, systems, tools and programs to maximize the attraction of applicants and staffing outcomes.


The ideal candidate has:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in recruiting and talent acquisition, preferably within a testing or manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Strong customer service focus, interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Proven success recruiting tough-to-fill positions
  • Ability to build credibility and confidence at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with a variety of applicant tracking and related systems and proven ability to leverage those systems for success
  • Demonstrated judgement, creativity, integrity and ability to problem solve.
  • Experience building recruitment tools that support DEI initiatives and elimination of bias
  • Experience in recruitment requirements and regulations across Canada and the USA
  • Completion of a diploma or university degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills

In this role, you will:

  • Lead development and improvement of the recruitment strategies, tools and processes.
  • Establish tools for support to full-cycle recruitment efforts including recruitment workflows, interview guides, screening processes, job postings, and large-scale recruitment initiatives.
  • Manage candidates in talent pipelines for specific or critical roles within the organization, including responsibility for recruitment of corporate and global positions
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts for talent acquisition and act as a point of contact to address issues with all aspects of the function.
  • Facilitate positive and memorable candidate experiences with frequent and timely communications throughout the recruitment process.
  • Develop candidate branding materials
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations involving employee selection, pre-employment reference and/or background checks that apply to the function.
  • Take the lead in optimization of applicant tracking systems and other systems as applicable.
  • Administer programs related to recruitment such as employee referrals, wage subsidy, and co-op talent programs.
  • Drive active recruitment efforts to source potential candidates.
  • Oversee various methods to source candidates across the region including various job boards, social media options, and internal web sites.
  • Leverage relationships with vendors used to drive development of talent acquisition across the region.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with schools, communities and resource groups to support recruitment efforts.
