As a Senior Reclamation Specialist, you will join the team in Fort St. John, BC as part of our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) group. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:
- Active participation in maintaining Matrix’s strong safety culture
- Provide practical, cost-effective, and scientifically-sound solutions to satisfy the needs of our clients
- Transfer knowledge, share experiences and support the training and mentorship of colleagues
- Be part of a technical practice community that supports team and personal innovation, and growth and success at all levels
- Prepare and review technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, cost estimates, reports, and project specifications, primarily for reclamation work but also for other work types within areas of expertise
- Work within a well-organized, and innovative culture with support systems that empower our professionals to focus on our clients and providing high quality solutions
- Support business growth and development for the reclamation portfolio in FSJ
What We Are Looking For
- Service-oriented and the ability to multi-task with strong written and verbal communication skills
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a directly related role including experience managing and executing various reclamation and vegetation management projects with a minimum of 5 years of experience getting regulatory closure for reclamation work on oil and gas sites
- A valid and clean driver’s license with no restrictions
- A working knowledge of BC’s regulatory framework
- Registration as a member in good standing with a professional organization (i.e., BCIA)
- Ability to provide effective technical direction and mentorship to other professionals
- A technical diploma or degree in environmental science, engineering or an applicable field
- Function effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Previous experience in a consulting environment with a proven background managing reclamation projects
