Position Summary:
The Assistant Procurement Specialist is accountable for reviewing purchase contracts and documents, supporting the procurement process, enforcing Fortinet procurement policies, and providing a check and balance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manages the review of vendor terms and conditions (discount, payment terms, etc.), and negotiation responsibilities for a variety of purchasing contracts (e.g.: master services agreements, SOWs, service providers, marketing agreements, IT agreements, licensing, including SaaS and Cloud other procurement related agreements).
· Assists in the development and enforcement of purchasing policies and procedures, to comply with SOX, customers questionnaires/3rd party audit requirements, may include procedural and system enhancements for an efficient / effective workflow.
· Works with cross-functional teams in the execution of all aspects of an integrated procurement process.
· Ensure proper documentation for vendor management in accordance with SOX and other control frameworks.
· Assist in the training of Fortinet personnel and act as a subject matter expert on the procurement and related processes.
Requirements:
· Strong communication skills with attention to detail.
· Independent thinker, self-starter with passion about procurement / purchasing.
· Demonstrated project and time management skills for juggling many changing priorities and working under tight deadlines.
· Solid computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, etc.
· Strong analytical skills with a goal-oriented attitude.
· Desire to gain project management, purchasing and process development experience.
· Ability to organize & prioritize, multitask, and perform accurately, efficiently and effectively in a high-paced work environment. Must have strong time management skills.
· Ability to successfully employ interpersonal skills to develop strong working relationships and customer service with internal and external stakeholders and resolve conflicts.
· Knowledge of contracts and P2P processes, is a plus.
· Experience with contract management systems and Oracle is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, business administration or an equivalent education and three years of related experience. Legal experience is a plus.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the technology/computer industry, preferably cybersecurity.
