Senior Platform Engineer at Badge (Remote | Vancouver, BC, Canada)

Badge enables companies to drive more community engagement through Apple and Google wallets.

Mobile wallet adoption is exploding. Transactions are projected to grow from $1.6T to $10T in 2030, but it’s difficult for companies to build in the mobile wallet space.

We’re changing that by making it easy for any company to tap into native wallet functionality and increase engagement.

We’re growing quickly in private beta and just closed a seed round from QED, Infinity Ventures, Abstract Ventures, SV Angel, and Plug and Play.

What You Will Do

• You will work collaboratively with product managers, and other engineers to scope and deliver new features and iterate on existing ones
• You will monitor and optimize our systems and infrastructure for stability and performance
• You will build and maintain the backend that powers our applications
• You will develop and maintain tools and processes that automate the deployment and management of our infrastructure
• You will work with other engineers to build and own products across a modern Node.js/Typescript tech stack that includes TypeScript, React, tRPC, Express, Prisma, PostgreSQL

What You Will Bring to the Table

• You have strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• You have experience with cloud-based services, we run on Google Cloud configured with Terraform
• You are excited to work across the stack, when needed, to deliver features
• You know the ins-and-outs of maintaining an application actively serving customers in production
• You’re clear and concise in explaining your thought process and in enumerating the tradeoffs made in your work
• You have mastered TypeScript and have experience building web servers in Node.js backed by SQL
• You have 4+ years of experience in backend service development
