As a Senior Software Engineer on our Platform team, you will have the opportunity to apply your software engineering expertise towards building the next generation of our core infrastructure that will enable thousands of hospitals and clinics — and empower millions of patients — to discover a better healthcare experience. You’ll be joining an experienced, collegial, and supportive team of Engineers eager to learn, teach, and ultimately make a difference.
In this role on the Platform team, you’ll work to enable other engineering teams’ success and bolster user confidence through maintaining foundational standards, ensuring the operational excellence of PocketHealth systems and dependent cloud resources. You will own the architecture, design, development, deployment, and operations of the solutions that you develop.
Responsibilities Of The Platform Team Include

• Engage with other Engineering teams throughout the SDLC to ensure that their infrastructure dependencies interface correctly and scale well
• Overall operational health of PocketHealth through monitoring and improvement of standards/processes and automation
• Operate critical infrastructure, including MySQL, Kubernetes, and Azure services
• Build and maintain CI/CD orchestration
• Evaluate and improve/remediate information security posture and regulation compliance
• Design, maintain, and improve code and automation used by the Engineering team

About you:

• Ability to deliver solutions for ambiguous or open-ended problems
• Experience developing and maintaining services on a Cloud platform, like Azure or AWS
• Experience designing/building microservices and/or distributed systems
• 4+ years of experience related to software development and operations
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent/similar
• A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills and a proven ability to partner with teams across an organization while maintaining a strong sense of ownership

You have at least 2-3 of the following:

• Expertise in maintaining and/or using Kubernetes
• Experience developing software in Golang, especially microservices and/or distributed systems
• Knowledge of information security best practices (e.g. OWASP Top 10, permissions management, threat modeling)
• Knowledge of Azure best practices or experience using Azure
• Knowledge of computer networking
• Administrating and/or optimizing queries for MySQL (or similar database systems)
• Linux system administration (e.g. interpreting logs, shell scripting, creating cron jobs)
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD systems
