Senior Network Security Analyst

PrecisionIT is seeking a Senior Network Security Analyst for a permanent position with our Ottawa-based client.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Working closely with the Infrastructure and the Security teams along with the various business units within the organization providing day to day support and services while also working on new initiatives.

- Design, develop, implement, optimize, maintain, and support IT Network Infrastructure systems and services to meet business needs while adhering to organizational, IT, and Cybersecurity policies.

- Evaluate and recommend network and security enhancements while ensuring their operational and technical requirements for infrastructure, networking connectivity, security best practices, and current or future interoperability

- Automate or perform regular preventive system maintenance including upgrades and/or patching to address security vulnerabilities and/or operational enhancements.

- Utilize ITSM processes and procedures such as Incident, Problem, Change, Risk, Configuration and Capacity Management.

- Act as technical team lead for various operations and projects within network security functional area.

- Troubleshoot complex, interrelated IT issues logically identifying the root cause, as well as implementing corrective and preventive actions.

- Perform secure network design, deployment, and provisioning, as well as ongoing operational management of the networks using automated provisioning technologies, proactive health monitoring tools, and capacity planning techniques.

- Assist in the development of operational guidelines and procedures.

- Evaluate and provide guidance on networking throughput and capacity based on environmental and client requirements.

- Work closely with Project Managers and Implementation Specialists to deliver integrated IT solutions.

- Through the change management process, support, track and document change implementations.

- Support the transition from a traditional on-premises infrastructure to a more agile and flexible hybrid architecture that incorporates cloud services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 8 to 12+ years of experience working as a Network / Network Security Analyst/Administrator.

- Some or several Industry standard certifications from the likes of Fortinet (NSE), Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Security+, CCSK, CISSP, Azure, AWS or ITIL.

- Solid experience with Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), VPN, Routing, Switching and Wi-Fi network systems based on Cisco & Fortinet technologies.

- Experience in capacity planning, load balancing and performance tuning.

- In-depth knowledge of physical and virtual networking.

- Understanding of cloud platform services and architecture.

- Knowledge of Linux and Windows system administration.

- Experience working with as much as or most of the following:

Network Load Balancers like FortiADC, Cloudflare, Azure, F5 Big-IP, or Citrix NetScaler; Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Advanced Threat Protection systems, and Web Application Firewall (WAF) services.

- Collaborating with developers, in a DevOps environment and Agile methodologies.

- DevSecOps principles in general and specific tasks such as automating network provisioning and configuration management.

- Design, implementation, and operations of Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnects, VMware vSwitches, Virtual Distribution Switches (VDS), AWS & Azure platforms.

- Knowledge of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
