The recruitment team at Myticas Consulting is looking for an experienced Network Security Specialist who would be interested in a long-term contract opportunity offered within the Ottawa, ON region.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of relevant work experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong working level knowledge of IP Networking. Routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP), signaling protocols (RSVP, LDP), Segment Routing, QoS, IP VPN, VPLS, eVPN, BNG, NAT,DPI etc.
• Responds to requests for technical information and assistance in a timely and professional manner.
• Excellent hands-on network integration and problem solving skills.
• Security knowledge of third-party routers and switches, including Cisco/Juniper product lines.
• Influences others outside the team to ensure goals are met and conflicts are resolved.

Key requirements:

• Security consultancy
• Understand and interact with related disciplines to ensure the consistent application of policies and standards across all Security Governance, Risk & Compliance Management Services.
• Guide vulnerability assessment and penetration testing of network solutions, application and network elements
• Develop and apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication etc …).
• Implement plans of action and milestones or remediation plans for vulnerabilities identified during risk assessments.
• Support in preparing authorization and assurance documents to confirm that the level of risk is within acceptable limits for each solution, system, and network.
• Guide and maintain network analysis tools to identify vulnerabilities. (automation).
• Network Design and Network Security Design
• Perform impact/risk assessments, prepare vulnerability assessment reports and provide remediation strategies/solutions for networks
• Perform network security assessment for IP networks

EDUCATION:

• Advanced IP/MPLS training/certification (Nokia SRA, Cisco CCxx, Juniper Junos)
• Minimum: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.

Qualifications:

• Deep expertise in layer 2 and layer 3 knowledge including but not limited to DNS, DHCP, NTP, TCP/UDP, IP, TKIP, IPsec, MACsec, and high-level communication protocols is essential.
• A min of 8 years of experience with designing, integrating, and troubleshooting IP networks. Knowledge of IP addressing (IPv4 and IPv6), subnetting, routing protocols (i.e. OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc.), MPLS, QoS, Multicast, VPLS, EVPN, and VPRN.
• Knowledge of network security management; in SIEM, NGFW, CASB, etc and practical experience in automation and integration activities.
• Knowledge of security risk frameworks, including ISO 27000, NIST SP800 Series, CIP
• Knowledge of technology industry best practices related to privacy, privacy laws, regulations, and self-regulatory models

Desired Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, routing protocols (i.e. OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc.), MPLS, QoS, Multicast, VPLS, and VPRN. Experience in wireless transportation such as Microwave and LTE technologies, in-depth Communication Services over MPLS, and strong communication skills would be a definite asset.
• Experience with virtualized networking
• Good Linux security skills and networking in RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu
• Master's degree in CS or Engineering, CCIE (R&S or SP) or SRA certification or equivalent experience. 8 or more years of experience with designing, integrating, and troubleshooting IP networks.
• Experience using Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and firewalls hardware and software
• Experience with virtualization hypervisors such as KVM, XEN, VMware, Hyper-V
