Job Description
We are hiring a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in our St. Thomas, ON location!
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will work directly with a variety of departments (maintenance, production, quality etc), different automated equipment and technology, and works within a collaborative environment to support this role.

What You Will Do
  • Machine related tooling experience
  • CNC programming experience
  • Support setup reduction requests from operations.
  • Coordinate prototype and production runs through new program launches.
  • Assist in the creation of PFMEA, Control Plans, and other APQP / Stage Gate related tasks.
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes through investigations of issues; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Drive long term problem solving through the implementation of CI (Glass House) projects.
  • Assures product and process quality by crafting testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Support the Engineering Change System through analyzing and approving changes.
  • Facilitate waste reduction initiatives as an SME in QCO, EP, Std Work, and PPS.
  • Provides day to day support to operations through the Process Problem Solving System and Daily Management.
  • Cost and Design new tooling, assist in tooling life studies of new tools, and help maintain the Tooling management system.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Support PPAP runs and submissions.
  • Develop operator work instructions and assist in training.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating with maintenance; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Some PLC knowledge and programming required.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Support requests from operations to improve lean manufacturing in areas.
Who You Are
  • Proven track record to lead multi-functional teams
  • Possess an engineering degree or diploma
  • P.Eng an asset
  • CAD and modelling experience required
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a lean manufacturing environment is required
  • Work related project management experience
  • Some PLC knowledge and programming an asset
  • CNC programming experience (G code, Mastercam)
