Job Profile: Sr Manager- Planning & Analysis, LTA Finance.


Reports to: Director, LTA Finance


Loblaw Companies Limited is currently seeking a Sr Manager, LTA Finance to support the Loblaw Technology & Analytics (LTA) team within the corporate head office.


Job Summary


The ideal candidate will have strong financial & business acumen, with solid financial & reporting experience. This position requires an advanced level of initiative and judgment in order to organize and prioritize tasks, workload and projects.


We are looking for a candidate that is a self-starter, highly energized, and has excellent communication and presentation skills. The right candidate will bring a strong mix of experience with financial planning and reporting within operations.


The incumbent will also be required to establish strong working relationships with LTA management to provide all financial & decision support.


Key Accountabilities


  • Champion and lead continuous improvement in the financial process for LTA finance as well as the broader enterprise through leadership, collaboration, and a dedication to execution
  • Support the improvement of financial processes and controls including period-end reporting, high level variance analysis, forecasting and project management
  • Contribute to the preparation of senior management presentations by providing standard and ad-hoc analysis and reporting
  • Lead & support the forecast and annual budget processes
  • Good business acumen with ability to review business models and contracts and thereafter make sound recommendations.
  • Manage competing priorities within a very fast-paced finance environment
  • Provide decision support analysis to identify issues, opportunities, and emerging trends for our business partners
  • Expand relationships with teams in the business including collaborating with and influencing senior management. Effectively communicate ideas and actions with confidence & clarity
  • Support the overall LTA finance model creating a strong partnership with Key stakeholders across the LTA organizations.
  • Build relationships with IT management and provide financial reporting and analysis support
  • Must be a strategic thinker, have a good professional presence and possess strong planning, reporting, financial and organizational skills.
  • Assist with training of internal customers


Job Qualifications


  • Excellent computer skills, specifically with Excel, Power Bi and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate and present information in a clear, concise “client ready” format
  • University or College degree in Accounting/Finance & a CPA accounting designation
  • Minimum of 5-8 years business experience within a Finance and/or Retail environment
  • Superior analytical skills with the ability to provide accurate reporting and business insights
  • Knowledge/experience with SAP & Project accounting experience beneficial (SAP Project Systems (PS) would be an advantage).
