Senior Financial Planning Analyst
Budge Studios is looking for a FP&A Senior analyst who will be reporting to the V.P Finance. The ideal candidate has a well-rounded understanding of all finance-related functions, including financial statements, accounting, financial planning & analysis, treasury, financing, financial modeling, reporting and database management. Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Update current year outlook forecasts on a monthly basis.
- Run cost and ROI analysis and connect with the production team when required.
- Prepare Board of Directors materials on a quarterly basis.
- Benchmark actuals against budget and historical through gap analysis framework.
- Draft monthly financial dashboards to Co-CEOs.
- Take ownership of the 3-year financial model and update when required.
- Update the Budget tool monthly which allows production to analyze, monitor and control cost of ongoing productions.
- Improve processes and integrated tools.
Treasury:
- Assist in monitoring cash flows and perform cash management-related tasks.
- Update cash flow forecasts on a monthly basis.
Financial statements:
- Review monthly internal financial statements prepared by the Senior Accountant and update all departmental master documents.
- Assist in preparing the annual internal financial statements and assist the parent company for the year-end audit.
Reporting:
- Review (and prepare from time to time) royalty reports for license partners.
- Responsible for providing information to banks, investors, and other stakeholders, when required.
Accounting:
- Participate in the analysis of accounting issues as needed (standard and resulting accounting treatment).
- Support the Senior Accountant in the month-end cycle.
Tax:
- Work closely with the Senior Accountant on all tax-related matters and duties, including preparation of tax credit claims (MMTC, SRED (outsourced)), corporate taxes, sales taxes, labor remittances and all year-end forms preparation.
Strategic Initiatives:
- Assist V.P Finance and V.P Business Development in ad hoc strategic opportunities assessment.
Requirements:
- Fluency in both English and French.
- Keen attention to details.
- Strong organizational skills – ability to manage multiple priorities and the ability to plan to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy.
- Self motivated and versatile individual.
- Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong technical skills including advanced knowledge of Excel and overall database management.
- Experience with Sage (Simply) Accounting (an asset).
- Minimum of three years of qualified Accounting and Finance experience.
- Experience supervising month-end and year-end audit processes.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance and/or Accounting (CPA designation, an asset).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
