Our expectations

The Analyst, Merchandise Planning is responsible for building and maintaining assortment and financial plans that support the business to achieve its sales, margin, and inventory objectives. The incumbent will be a key partner to the Merchants to build item forecasts, as well as analyze performance and recommend actions to adjust plans based on actual results and maintain the updated forecast for assigned categories. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong partnership, analytical and problem-solving skills to evolve the function.

Your role

Seasonal Management

• Maintain inventory forecast for selected categories
• Post-season analysis: Analyze historical performance to identify drivers of performance and propose financial and assortment targets for future seasons
• In-season management: Lead weekly performance analysis, identifying actual performance compared to forecast and drivers of gaps, and recommend markdown or purchase priorities to Merchants. Calculate the sales, margin and inventory impact of selected actions, and update weekly forecast
• Pre-season planning: Partner with Merchants to create item-level forecasts to meet budget targets and apply performance opportunities

Product Line Review Forecasts

• Support cross-functional exit strategy planning and management. Recommend exit approach based on inventory levels and category context, monitor performance and make recommendations to align product exit to planogram timing
• Build the item-level sales, margin and inventory forecasts for major Product Line Reviews
• Partner with Merchants to apply standard forecasting tools to build new item forecasts
• Validate forecasts based on category and historical performance trends

The Qualifications We Are Looking For

• Interest and experience influencing others and in relationship building
• Our Hybrid Workplace Policy establishes that associates need to have a reliable transportation to and from our corporate head office located in Boucherville (Quebec), to come to the office on a regular basis.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Strong analytical, financial acumen and problem-solving skills
• Strong organization skills and comfort working in a fast-paced environment
• Retail experience (preferred)
