Position Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst – Investments
Reports To: AVP, Investment Technology and Operations
Department: Investment Technology and Operations
Term: Permanent Full-Time
Work Arrangements: We are currently working remotely, and we will be moving to a hybrid model when our office renovation is complete (approximately September 2023), coming into the office a minimum of 2 days per week, every other week on designated days.
The Opportunity: Equitable Life is growing! We are looking to add a Senior Business Systems Analyst to our Investment Technology and Operations team!
The Senior Business Systems Analyst will take a lead role in process improvements, systems upgrades, and new implementations, including working with our Investment Administration System (ePam). This role will work closely with our Investment department, Corporate IT teams, and external vendors.

What you will be doing:

• Provide system analyses, problem solving and documentation for projects
• Work closely with stakeholders to determine solutions, assess impact to existing work processes and systems, and pinpoint how to manage integration
• Preparation of project test plans, documentation, and execution
• Provide escalation support to troubleshoot complex production issues and provide oversight to ensure the fix is a viable and sustainable solution
• Troubleshoot complex project level defects and assist with root cause analysis leveraging system analysis techniques and tools
• Post implementation monitoring and evaluation to ensure an effective project implementation
• Represents Investment in various meetings with other areas of the company and external parties
• Identification of potential project risks and ways to manage them
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications for all project sizes and for complex integrated system projects, taking into consideration non-functional requirements
• Responsible for annual ePam upgrades
• Identify and execute on process improvements through process mapping and re-design
• Contribute to the planning of a detailed project timeline
• Responsible for semi-annual FundServ testing and upgrading
• Primary person responsible for system changes related to changes to Segregated Funds and Linked accounts from Savings & Retirement and Individual
• Prepare current and future detailed flow charts and diagrams outlining systems capabilities and processes

What you will bring:

• Knowledge of ePam, RBC Investor Services, Equifax, PeopleSoft, Fundserv, RBC Express is an asset
• High attention to detail
• Degree in Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• Greater than 5 years experience participating in system implementations and testing as a key contributor
• Excellent negotiation, influencing, problem solving and decision making skills
• 5-8 years of experience in Business Systems Analyst role
• Minimum 5 years' experience in insurance or financial services industry
• Experienced in Waterfall and/or Agile methodology
• Sound Technical skills as asset such as database querying,
• Frequent interaction with project stakeholders including executives, multiple levels of management, IT resources, project teams, staff and external vendors
• Knowledge of investment administration and accounting systems
• Strong Knowledge of system development life cycle
• Previous investment back-office experience including segregated or mutual funds
• Knowledge and experience in investments, accounting, and financial reporting
• Sound day-to-day time management skills in a fast-paced environment
• Sound knowledge and experience with Excel, Word
