Alternative Investment Analyst - Fall Intern

Dark Horse Capital is a student driven investment club operating as a research group focused on finding asymmetric investment opportunities from the lens of digital asset management.

We are looking for a passionate, skeptical, curious and data driven individual to join our team for Fall 2023 as an intern. Your role would be to perform preliminary screening for alternative assets including collectibles, alt-coins, digital assets and generate investment theses around unique opportunities.

This is a great opportunity to join one of the first student driven digital asset research/investment clubs in Canada.

Responsibilities:

• Pitch ideas bi-weekly to the investment committee
• Create slide deck material as needed
• Ad-hoc tasks
• Determine and develop preliminary theses across Web3 and traditional markets
• Analyze data using Dune analytics, Excel or other tools to support investment theses and determine investment returns.
• Support team across areas you are curious about

Qualifications:

Education: University or College Completed or In-progress.

Required:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• An ability to balance work/school with investment research.
• Comfortable using twitter, discord and telegram
• In-depth understanding of Web3, including digital wallets, DeFi ecosystems, GameFi, digital assets, stablecoin risks and emerging market trends.
• Ability to perform basic fundamental and technical analysis on investments
• Excellent leadership skills
• Powerpoint/Google Slides, Excel, Google Sheets, CapitalIQ, Pitchbook

Complementary skills:

• Solidity/Rust/Cadence or general ability to read smart contracts
• Knowledge in SQL, Python or strong ability to perform data analysis
